<strong>official pamphlets<\/strong>, <strong>handbooks<\/strong>, <strong>manuals<\/strong> and other <strong>literature<\/strong> pertaining to the performance of notarial acts in the Notary\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>X-A-2: Studying Laws and Regulations Essential<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Notary shall <strong>study<\/strong> all <strong>laws<\/strong>, <strong>regulations<\/strong> and <strong>official directives<\/strong> that pertain to the performance of notarial acts in the Notary\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>X-A-3: Supplemental Guidance Often Necessary<\/strong><br \/>\nIn order to achieve a solid understanding of the basic principles and practices of notarization, the Notary shall be <strong>proactive<\/strong> in seeking out <strong>expert guidance<\/strong> and in supplementing any <strong>official training<\/strong> or <strong>materials<\/strong> with those provided by respected <strong>educational institutions<\/strong> and <strong>professional organizations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>X-A-4: Continuing Education Essential<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Notary shall <strong>keep current<\/strong> on <strong>new laws<\/strong> and <strong>regulations<\/strong> and on any <strong>other developments<\/strong> that affect the performance of notarial acts in the Notary\u2019s jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Article_B_Dispensing_Knowledge\"><\/span><strong>Article B: Dispensing Knowledge<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>X-B-1: Providing Expertise to Others<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Notary shall freely <strong>provide notarial expertise<\/strong> to less experienced Notaries and step forward to offer needed <strong>corrective advice<\/strong> on the proper performance of notarial acts.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Article_C_Maintaining_Standards\"><\/span><strong>Article C: Maintaining Standards<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>X-C-1: Reporting Misconduct<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Notary shall <strong>report<\/strong> to the commissioning authority <strong>violations<\/strong> of the statutes, regulations, and directives governing the conduct of Notaries.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Colorado_Notary_Training\"><\/span>Colorado Notary Training<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a <strong>Colorado Notary Training<\/strong> instructor, I spend time every day reading notary forums, blogs, books, articles and websites to increase my Colorado notary knowledge and my notary knowledge of other states.\u00a0 I have also read <strong>historical laws<\/strong> going back to the first notaries appointed in <strong>Colorado Territory<\/strong> from 1861 up until current Colorado notary laws.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I have taught many <strong>notary students<\/strong>, helping them to gain notary knowledge needed to pass the <strong>Colorado notary exam<\/strong> and to serve as a <strong>notary employee<\/strong> or to start a part-time or full-time <strong>notary business<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most notary training students have a <strong>good attitude<\/strong> and are eager to learn <strong>notary laws<\/strong> and <strong>best practices<\/strong> to avoid notary <strong>liability<\/strong> due to <strong>errors<\/strong> and <strong>omissions<\/strong>.\u00a0 Some students call or send an email when they have a notary question.\u00a0 I am glad to provide <strong>continuing education<\/strong> and support to my students, but I do not give <strong>legal advice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Occasionally, I encounter a notary with a <strong>bad attitude<\/strong> or<strong> unethical behavior<\/strong>, who doesn&#8217;t seem interested in learning and following notary laws and best practices.\u00a0 If I discover a notary who is committing a <strong>violation<\/strong> of notary laws, I will report the <strong>notary misconduct<\/strong> to the <strong>Secretary of State<\/strong> (<strong>SOS<\/strong>) for <strong>disciplinary action<\/strong>, which may include <strong>admonishment<\/strong>, <strong>suspension<\/strong> or <strong>revocation<\/strong> of a notary commission, and possibly <strong>criminal charges<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Professional notaries should seek <strong>continuing education<\/strong> and <strong>training<\/strong> and maintain <strong>professional
